Malaysia’s Coastal Shipping & Forwarding Agency is about to begin the recovery and disposal operation to salvage Velesto Energy’s jack-up Naga 7, which sank offshore Sarawak in 2021 just as it was preparing for an extensive exploration and appraisal drilling campaign for US major ConocoPhillips.

The Sarawak-based agency has lined up vessels including the Tuvalu-flagged Falcon Chief and the small anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels Resolute and Independence to remove the stricken jack-up from the seabed, according to Malaysia’s Marine Department.
