US offshore drilling giant Transocean has been awarded significant contract extensions and one contract for work in the US Gulf of Mexico, as well as one contract in the UK North Sea.

US supermajor Chevron awarded the drillship Deepwater Conqueror a one-well contractual extension in the Gulf of Mexico at a day rate of $335,000, rolling over the estimated contract end date by two months to December 2022, according to the Houston-based driller's latest fleet report.

The Deepwater Conqueror is currently drilling on Chevron’s Anchor field, according to the US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement’s activity report of 9 February 2022.
