Texas-based Noble was forced to evacuate a jack-up operating off the east coast of Trinidad & Tobago late last week after it developed a serious structural issue during a rig move.
The incident follows last month’s sinking — with no lives lost — of a liftboat owned by a local contractor off Trinidad’s west coast.
On 15 December, the jack-up Noble Regina Allen was hit by a mechanical issue while preparing to move from its location about 26 miles (42 kilometres) off the coast of Trinidad.
