Chinese yard Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry has kicked off construction of the floating liquefied natural gas vessel destined to exploit Italian major Eni’s gas asset offshore Congo-Brazzaville.
The first steel cut on Tuesday is intended to ensure that first gas from the Marine XII block by the end of 2025.
The FLNG vessel will be deployed at the shallow-water Marine XII block, with a water depth of about 30 to 50 metres, where Eni has discovered a deposit estimated to host some 198 billion cubic metres of natural gas.
