US liquefied natural gas exporter Freeport LNG has stated its new objective is to have its facility producing again by the middle of December after being the subject of numerous rumours that it would return to service before the end of 2022.

LNG exports from the complex will not restart until well into 2023.

Freeport LNG, a 15 million tonnes per annum export facility on the Texas Gulf Coast, has been offline since an explosion and fire in early June.
