A leak on the onshore section of a pipeline delivering gas from Myanmar to Thailand has caused operator PTTEP to suspend gas deliveries to the kingdom.
The problem at the offshore Zawtika field on Monday morning caused gas pressure to drop, so PTTEP promptly isolated the pipeline temporarily.
A preliminary examination found no trace of explosion or fire although further investigation is under way.
PTTEP said it is accelerating the pipeline repair work, which is expected to take about two weeks to complete. The company added it would report further on the matter if there was an update on the situation.
