Japan’s Inpex has faced another safety incident at its Ichthys project off Western Australia, just weeks after an incident onboard a drilling rig at the project.

The Offshore Alliance, a coalition between the Australian Workers’ Union and the Maritime Union of Australia, alleged in a social media post over the weekend an offtake tanker had to quickly disconnect from the Ichthys Venturer floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

According to the unions, the tanker, which was reportedly under a static tow from a support vessel, jack-knifed 90-degrees during operations on Sunday.
