Two people were injured and an offshore jacket plunged into the sea when a crane boom collapsed on a heavy-lift pipelay vessel that was working for Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on the Cluster-8 development project off India’s western coast.

At least five people familiar with the incident said that the LTS-3000's crane boom collapsed on 8 March while carrying out operations on the shallow-water development project, which is operated by Indian giant Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
