Russia’s prolonged war with Ukraine has increased risks of cyberattacks for oil and gas companies, a top official at Petrobras said on Thursday.

“We all have to be worried,” said Marcia Tosta, chief information security officer at the Brazilian state-owned oil giant, in an interview with Upstream at the Rio Oil & Gas 2022 conference.

“Every day we get new threats, and the attacks are evolving,” the long-time cybersecurity expert observed.

“The problem is going to get worse,” she warned.
