Initial testing of Australian junior Empire Energy’s Carpentaria-1 liquids rich gas discovery, in the Northern Territory’s onshore Beetaloo basin, has beaten the company’s expectations.
Empire revealed Monday the Carpentaria-1 well, in its wholly-owned d EP187 tenement, flowed at a peak rate of about 500,000 cubic feet per day and an initial stabilised rate of 370 Mcfd over a 72-hour test period. It also recorded an instantaneous peak rate of 1.6 million cubic feet per day following a short shut-in.
