The tender was launched on 15 June and the commercial prices were opened in late-July.
It is understood that 12 companies, including China’s Sinopec, Honghua and Forpetro Sino-Rig, Abu Dhabi-based National Drilling Company, US player IDE and Herrenknecht of Germany, have submitted offers.
“Our original plan was to award the entire contract to a single company, but time is critical for us, so we are dividing the package among two different groups,” said HRT chief executive Marcio Mello.
