Germany’s Dea has taken over as operator of the Ogarrio oilfield in Mexico after finalising an agreement with state oil company Pemex and Mexico's National Hydrocarbons Commission.
Dea will take a 50% share in the licence and is aiming to increase output from current levels of about 10,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
“We aim to increase the production from Ogarrio significantly already within the next year,” president of Deutsche Erdoel Mexico, Juan Manuel Delgado, said.
