The first of two deep-water exploration wells that ExxonMobil plans to drill this year off south-east Australia is located a short distance from the previous Dory sub-commercial discovery.
That first well is called Baldfish-1, and it will be drilled in a water depth of about 665 metres. The second well is Hairtail-1 in about 359 metres of water.
The two wells are located in Block Vic/P70 which ExxonMobil acquired last year from Liberty Petroleum.
