Malaysia’s national upstream company Petronas Carigali has proposed using a floating storage and regasification unit as a solution to enable it to meet the contractual supply commitments of its Kepodang field off Indonesia, writes Amanda Battersby.

Petronas has already declared force majeure at Kepodang, which came on stream in 2015, and should today be supplying 116 million cubic feet per day of gas to Indonesia’s state-owned electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) under a 12-year contract.
