Japanese contractor IHI Corporation is working through a variety of construction challenges on the two offshore projects in its backlog — the newbuild hull for the drillship Can Do and the newbuild hull for the Catcher floating production, storage and offloading vessel.

IHI was awarded the drillship contract by Keppel Fels in December 2013, and at the end of March 2016 the hull was at a completion rate of 88%, according to IHI’s latest financial results.
