The Isle of Grain terminal in Kent is now available for commercial operations, with the ability to import and process 3.3 million tonnes per year of LNG, representing around 4% of the UK's current annual gas demand.
The site, which is owned by Grain LNG, a subsidiary of National Grid Transco, is the first modern LNG terminal in the UK and marks the return of large-scale LNG imports into the country for the first time in more than 20 years.
