Dutch floater specialist SBM and UK-based TechnipFMC are facing off against one another for a contract to carry out what is a bridging engineering contract for a semi-submersible production platform to be installed the Lingshui 17-2 gas project in the South China Sea, writes Xu Yihe.
Industry officials said China’s Offshore Oil Engineering Company (COOEC), which is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the semisub, has called in the two companies for clarifications this week, with an award expected in April.
