Media reports came out earlier this week in Malaysia that suggested the two parties were working on a potential deal that would see Petronas-controlled MISC’s floater division separated out and folded into Bumi Armada in exchange for shares in the latter.
Both companies then made statements that exploring mergers and acquisitions, disposal opportunities and growth prospects were a normal part of their businesses, but did not mention each other.
