Daewoo plans to cut 2000 jobs on top of the approximate 2000 it shed last year, which will see the contractor’s workforce reduce to 8500 by the end of the year, compared to 13,200 two years ago, according to the Yonhap news agency.
Some of Daewoo’s office workers will this month start taking unpaid leave on a rotation basis to help reduce costs.
