ConocoPhillips’ project proposal for the Barossa development off Australia has received regulatory approval, with the only major design change being the route of the subsea export pipeline in order to lessen its environmental impact, writes Russell Searancke.
The US operator and its joint venture partners SK Energy and Santos submitted the Offshore Project Proposal (OPP) — the first of two regulatory processes — last July to the National Offshore Petroleum Safety & Environmental Management Authority (Nopsema).
