Papua New Guinea's Oil Search is about to start a two-well operated appraisal drilling programme in the Forelands region as it seeks new gas volumes for its liquefied natural gas business, writes Russell Searancke.
The Kimu-2 appraisal well in Block PRL 8 is expected to begin drilling shortly and should reach total depth in late May or early June.
It will be followed by the Barikewa-3 appraisal well in Block PRL 9.
