In Block 9, the company’s main producing acreage, PetroSA is looking at re-using its Orca floating production unit to exploit the E-BK and E-CB oil, gas and condensate discoveries.
Orca, a semi-submersible FPU, is now moored in the port of Ngqura close to Port Elizabeth after it finished operations last month on the Oribi-Oryx complex, in the same block.
Also in Block 9, the potential of the E-W gas discovery is being assessed and is described in PetroSA’s just-published 2013 annual report as “one of the most promising near-term developments”.
