The race is hotting up for contracts covering the fabrication of topsides modules for the floating production, storage and offloading vessel that will develop the Petrobras-operated Sepia field in the Santos basin pre-salt province off Brazil, writes Xu Yihe.
Industry officials said Japan's Modec International, the lead contractor for provision of the Sepia floater, has invited a number of yards, including players in both China and Brazil, to participate in tenders for modules totalling 30,000 tonnes in weight.
