Rowan Drilling has been warned by UK safety inspectors after failures were found on the jack-up Rowan Gorilla V.
Rowan was told by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) it had failed to demonstrate that use of the jacking control console, which raises and lowers the rig on its legs, was being carried out safely.
The company was found to have no documented operating procedure describing the safe operation of the jacking control console, which is part of a safety and environmental critical element.
