Santos puts faith in Johnson-1 well Barrow basin appraisal

Santos is targeting 20 million barrels of oil with the Johnson-1 exploration well in the vicinity of the Griffin and Woollybutt oil projects off Western Australia. The well is located in Block WA-358-P in the Barrow sub-basin of the Carnarvon basin, and is expected to reach a depth of 3200 metres by 20 April, said co-venturer Tap Oil. It added: "Johnson-1 is only the second well drilled in the permit even though 200 million barrels have been found in adjacent licences."
