UK-listed Serica Energy was assessing mid-week the potential impact of US President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the US out of the international Iran nuclear deal on its yet-to-be-completed deal to acquire the Bruce, Keith and Rhum (BKR) assets off the UK from supermajor BP.
Under the deal, first agreed in November and due to complete later this year, Serica will acquire BP’s 50% interest in Rhum, a field that supplies about 5% of UK gas and in which Iranian Oil Company is its 50% non-operating partner.
