The developers of the proposed Lake Charles liquefied natural gas export facility in Louisiana have asked the US state to extend the deadline for starting construction work on the terminal facilities by 18 months.
According to regulatory filings, the facility's current permits from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) set a deadline of 1 May 2018.
The request would set a new deadline of 1 November 2019.
