UK-based pipeline engineering player SRJ Technologies has gotten in the fast track ahead of a planned initial public offering with the addition of two notable names from the world of motor racing as stakeholders.

Former Formula One team owner Eddie Jordan and five-time Motorcycle Grand Prix world champion Mick Doohan have taken unspecified stakes in the company that plans to list on the Australian Stock Exchange later this year.

SRJ has also added former BP, Petrofac and PGS executive Rob Pinchbeck as non-executive chairman as it looks to target both the Australian oil and gas industry and floating production, storage and offloading players in Europe.

Australian Sporting Hall of Famer Doohan also runs luxury jet sale and leasing company Global Jet International.

"The whole point is to create solutions that are better, faster, safer and make life easier for people. Whether that's a motorcycle, a corporate jet or a pipeline coupling, if the focus is on success, that's what the outcome will be,” Doohan said.

"We have already attracted some significant investors into the pre-IPO round of capital raising and with Rob and Mick's assistance, we look forward to proceeding towards an ASX listing over the coming months,” SRJ chief executive Alexander Wood said.

SRJ has appointed Perth-based stockbroker CPS Capita as lead manager of the pre-IPO raising, in which it hopes to attract A$5 million (US$3.5 million).
