Norwegian company Norsk Hydro has gone as far as complaining officially to both British authorities and UK gas transporter Transco. The entry fee alone is currently as expensive per unit as transportation from the Norwegian shelf to the Scottish shore, according to Vesterled-operator Hydro.
"With fees like that, it may turn out cheaper to send future volumes all the way around the continent and into the UK through the Interconnector," said a Hydro executive.
