French energy giant Total is understood to have made a natural gas discovery with an ultra-deep water exploration well that it has drilled off Sarawak in Malaysia, but the final results are not yet clear.
The Tepat-1 wildcat off the island of Borneo was drilled earlier this year in a water depth of about 2850 metres using the semi-submersible rig Maersk Deliverer.
