The Rimu-Kauri-Manutahi fields are owned by Origin Energy, which has been trying to offload the fields as part of an asset divestment process to raise capital.
Terms of the deal between Origin and WestSide could not be confirmed as Upstream went to press, but a spokesperson for Origin confirmed the two sides had entered into a sales and purchase agreement that is subject to approval by the New Zealand government.
