Informed sources said that the Abadi-8 appraisal well, understood to have been completed about three months ago, has proved up resource potential for more than 2.5 million tonnes per annum production.
Some sources flagged production upside of up to 6 million tpa for Abadi phase two, but the final capacity will be subject to the completion of the appraisal drilling campaign as well as talks between Japanese operator Inpex and the Indonesian government.
