MOZAMBIQUE’S deep northern waters off Cabo Delgado province will be the focus of major development activity in the coming five years as Anadarko Petroleum and Eni each begin to exploit their abundant gas discoveries in the Rovuma basin.
In Area 1, the US player has the task of deciding how best to tap what it estimates is 75 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas, although Thai partner PTTEP claims a more conservative figure of “more than” 70 Tcf.
