Six groups on tenterhooks as Hess works to finalise strategy for its deep-water Equus project

Six world-class groups of contractors have been on tenterhooks since last October as Hess set about selecting two or three groups to eventually bid for the principal engineering procurement and construction contract.

The six groups are:

• WorleyParsons-IntecSea with Hyundai Heavy Industries

• Modec and Wood Group Mustang with Samsung Heavy Industries

• KBR with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering

• Saipem with SembCorp Marine

• McDermott with Keppel Offshore & Marine

• SBM Offshore, possibly on a sole basis.

The
