The proposed site is close to Rio Grande, the port town where a Petrobras-brokered drydock project was recently concluded and where Sao Paulo construction outfit Engevix is in line to build eight hulls for the Tupi field.

Rio Grande is also the operational base for the Quip consortium—made up of Queiroz Galvao, UTC, Iesa, Camargo Correa and PJMR—contracted to fabricate and integrate topside modules for the production semi P-55 and FPSO P-63, for Petrobras.
