“We have decided to initiate a process with the aim of ultimately exiting from our oil and gas business,” chief executive Henrik Poulsen said in the company’s quarterly report this week.
State-controlled Dong has previously indicated it did not consider oil and gas a long-term commitment as it focuses on wind power, biofuels and distribution. It did not give a time-frame for divestment.
