THE PENULTIMATE piece in a 550,000 barrels-per-day jigsaw fell into place last weekend, as Petrobras connected another giant floater on the Marlim field. The P-35 floating production, storage and off-loading vessel began receiving oil from well 7-MRL-64D after an improvement in weather conditions allowed the job to be completed. The $200 million conversion job has produced a gargantuan FPSO measuring 337 metres in length and 55 metres in width.
