Most of the major builders in Asia, such as J Ray McDermott, SMOE, Nippon Steel, and the South Korean trio of Daewoo, Samsung and perhaps Hyundai, have been invited to participate in a tender for a 7000-tonne processing platform and new compression facilities for the Mid Tapti field.
A single wellhead platform is also needed to drill up to eight new wells in order to increase gas production from the current rate of 250 million cubic feet per day to 450 MMcfd.
