A joint venture of UK-based Whessoe Oil & Gas and Holland-headquartered Volker Stevin Construction landed the job although a well-placed source said the pair of companies "have been working on the contract over the past couple of months".
Preparation work actually began in October and permanent work will start on site early next year.
Whessoe is the overall design, engineering, procurement and construction manager focused on the storage tank facilities while Volker is the EPC contractor for the civil engineering and marine aspects of the terminal.
