Additional amounts of Kazakh crude may be exported directly to the company's customers via a rail link to the Persian Gulf next year.

PetroKazakhstan, which only operates in Kazakhstan, produces about 165,000 barrels per day, half of which is exported.

The swap deal with Iran will involve 20,000 bpd of very light crude from the Kumkol fields to be delivered by rail to the Tehran refinery, where facilities are being upgraded.
