The phase-3 project aims to recover total reserves of 330 million barrels of oil and 6.4 billion cubic metres of gas. In 1999, when DUC began initial development of this field, reserves were officially said to be just 70 million barrels.
DUC operator Maersk Oil & Gas said the plan will boost field output to about 100,000 barrels of oil per day in 2005, after which production is expected to decline.
