The “constant oscillation between hiring and firing” may have “ruined” apprenticeship for good, argues Richard D’Souza, vice president of global operations for engineering consultant Granherne in Houston.
“There are so many things that are never recorded,” 60-year-old D’Souza, explains. “So many things that are simply lost. Very few will remember the first floating production system and some of the technologies used there.”
