Eni is proposing to develop Jangkrik using a floating production unit and export output to the Bontang liquefied natural gas plant onshore Kalimantan, between 50 and 100 kilometres away.
Sources expect a tender will be floated for the front-end engineering and design contract later this year.
Production is targeted to begin in 2015, with output pegged at between 300 million cubic feet per day and 400 MMcfd, according to estimates from upstream regulatory body BPMigas.
