The Petroleum Ministry wants Reliance to be completely accountable for the slippage in gas production from the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin and even recover close to $1.8 billion, which Reliance has already realised in the form of cost recovery from the project.
Even the country’s solicitor general has expressed a view that Reliance should not be allowed to recover costs from under-utilised facilities.
