A recent development well called Stickle-8 was brought on stream in mid-July, and is producing 11,000 barrels per day of oil, said co-venturer Apache.

In the three months to the end of June 2012, the Pyrenees field produced an average 38,000 bpd, a dramatic reduction compared with the same three-month period last year, when output was 71,000 bpd.

The operator has acknowledged a natural field decline at Pyrenees, and has pledged to drill satellite targets in a bid to keep the oil flowing.
