“I got out all the markers and suddenly began to see in sharp relief all the untapped opportunities from Gabon through Cameroon to the Niger Delta,” he says.
“I called my director of research and bluntly explained why I had to go and create my own independent oil company. She saw the appeal and knew she couldn’t stop me.”
Akinyanmi set up Lekoil in 2010 and lost no time mustering a technical team.
