Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Ibe Kachikwu is predicting that Nigeria may finally have a fully-overhauled petroleum code ready for presidential assent by early April after two decades of false starts and prevarication, writes Barry Morgan.

The process of harmonising the two versions of the Petroleum Industry & Governance Bill (PIGB), passed respectively by the House of Representatives and the Senate, will be completed before Easter ready for President Muhammadu Buhari to sign, the minister said.
