The head of Maersk Drilling has expressed confidence that its separation from parent AP Moller-Maersk next year will be good for the company, while acknowledging that it will be giving up a degree of security that comes with being under the umbrella of a larger organisation.
Maersk Drilling chief executive Jorn Madsen said the de-merger announced on 17 August will help enable the drilling contractor to assert its own identity and reassure clients as the parent company continues to divest its oil and gas interests.
