US independent Comstock Resources is set to become the largest operator in the Haynesville shale of Texas and Louisiana with the $2.2 billion acquisition of privately-held Covey Park Energy.
The combined company will control some 374,000 net acres, 293,000 of which are situated in the Haynesville.
In addition, the deal will give Comstock a total of 1.1 billion cubic feet equivalent per day in production and at least 5.4
