Fracking in the UK can now go ahead after a local community lost a legal battle in the High Court to stop explorer Cuadrilla Resources from drilling for shale gas in the north of England, writes Anamaria Deduleasa.
Preston New Road Action Group (PNRAG) launched the challenge after the government overruled a local council’s decision, which rejected Cuadrilla’s intention to use a site in Lancashire.
